Brigadier General Robert L. Scott, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament – Friday, April 11, 2008

The Museum of Aviation Foundation will hold the Third Annual Brig. Gen. Robert L. Scott, Jr. Memorial Golf Scramble on April 11, 2008 at Healy Point Country Club in Macon, Georgia. The tournament honors Macon’s hometown WWII Ace and author of “God Is My Co-Pilot” who passed away on February 27, 2006 at the age of 97. The tournament chairman is Carolyn Crayton, and co chairpersons are Lowell Register, retired Lt. Gen. Bob Hails, Marshall Butler and Gene Dunwody. Last year’s tournament raised over $101,000 for the Museum of Aviation.

“We all miss General Scott terribly,” said Pat Bartness, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Foundation. “But his memory will live on forever in the hearts and minds of everyone at the Museum and no doubt everyone that knew him. This golf scramble honors Macon’s true hometown hero and one of the greatest Americans ever to put on a uniform.”

The tournament, the 13th one honoring Scott, will include a noon lunch at the clubhouse, greens fees, riding cart, range balls, a distinctive commemorative golf shirt and an evening awards ceremony with buffet. Golfers have a choice of an 8 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. tee time. The tournament fee is $98 for players and prizes will go to the top 5 teams. Golfers receive one free ticket to the evening celebration and additional guests are invited to the evening clubhouse buffet at 6:00 p.m. for $20 each. Additional guest lunches are $7.
